Rickey Henderson is widely considered one of the greatest leadoff hitters and baserunners in baseball history, earning him the nickname “Man of Steal.” His career spanned 25 seasons, playing for nine different teams.
At time of writing, Henderson holds the Major League Baseball records for: Career stolen bases (1,406), Career runs scored (2,295), Career unintentional walks (2,129), Career leadoff home runs (81) and Single-season stolen bases (130 in 1982).
Henderson was a 10-time All-Star. He won two World Series championships (1989 with the Oakland Athletics and 1993 with the Toronto Blue Jays). He was named the American League MVP in 1990. He earned a Gold Glove Award in 1981 and won three Silver Slugger Awards (1981, 1985, 1990).
He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009 on his first ballot.
