I started collecting at a young age thanks to my parents. They ultimately are the ones that built the collection for me. They were friends with an owner of a sports store at our local mall. This owner also sponsored my little league baseball team. I was an avid bulls fan as a lot of people were. Due to my parents separation and having to move a few times a lot of my stuff was lost or destroyed. What I could keep throughout the years I did, eventually building everything back up. My favorite piece that I was able to save is a small jacket of the USA Olympic basketball team. I believe my collection now is bigger but maybe not as valuable as what I had prior. I remain a big sports fan. I also race at a local track. my mother was my couch in baseball as well. So with her recent passing, collecting is a way to keep a bond we shared going.
