Les Ferdinand - The first piece of a Newcastle United PC

As a fan who grew up in Newcastle in the '90s Kevin Keegan's Entertainers are one of the greatest club sides in my mind. From pretending to be our favourite players on the playground to spending Monday mornings talking about the weekend's result it felt like the whole city was obsessed. Despite not winning a trophy, it's a period filled with great memories of big wins and getting to stay up late for UEFA Cup games!

Les Ferdinand was only at Newcastle for two seasons between 1995 and 1997, but he made a big impact at the club. Over 84 games in all competitions Ferdinand scored an excellent 50 goals as he helped Newcastle to back to back runners-up finishes in the Premier League. Ferdinand remains a much-loved figure in Newcastle, still affectionately called 'Sir Les' by fans.

When I found this Les Ferdinand card with him wearing the iconic 1995-97 home kit it immediately jumped out at me and was the perfect first piece in my collection!
