Detta är den **svenskspråkiga versionen av Fortsättningskrigets minnesmedalj** (*Jatkosodan muistomitali*) från Finland. Eftersom Finland är ett tvåspråkigt land präglades medaljen i två officiella språkversioner: * Den ena med den finska texten *"Isänmaa"* (som vi tittade på i den förra bilden). * Denna med den svenska texten **FOSTERLANDET**. **Vem tilldelades denna version?** Denna svenskspråkiga prägling delades i regel ut till de svenskspråkiga finländarna (finlandssvenskarna) som stred i den finländska armén, men den var också den självklara medaljen för de tusentals **svenska frivilliga** som reste över till grannlandet för att tjänstgöra under åren 1941–1944 (exempelvis i *Svenska frivilligbataljonen* på Hangöfronten eller *Svenska frivilligkompaniet* vid Svirfronten). Med undantag för texten på framsidan är medaljen identisk med den finskspråkiga: den bär samma centrala motiv med ett bart svärd över en eklövskvist, årtalen **1941·1945**, samt det svarta/mörkblå bandet med de två tunna, guldgula längsgående ränderna.
